This book begins about nine years after The Sixth Discipline (Haven) ends. Francesca and Ran-Del have two children and a third is on the way. When a kidnapping attempt is thwarted by personal guards during an outing, Ran-Del convinces Francesca it is time for Christopher, age eight, to visit family in the forest, where he will be safer. Best laid plans, etc.In addition to the story begun in book one, this book expands to include two new relationships among supporting characters. It provides additional history and more suspense. The characters continue to be dynamic and four dimensional. I have enjoyed reading and rereading the duology and highly recommend it.

No Safe Haven Haven Series Book 2 eBook Carmen Webster Buxton Reviews
This book, much like the first, was a pleasure to read. The author weaves a compelling tale that made me want to read it (and I'm not huge on fantasy). Highly recommended.
The sequel to "The Sixth Discipline" which I liked well enough to immediately purchase this. Not quite as good as the initial book, unfortunately, but still an entertaining read.
In this era of series that continue indefinitely without saying anything, which I have no patience with,I have to say that I believe this book would have been better if expanded into two volumes. The main character from the first book continues in the main storyline but there are other storylines added as well. There were numerous transitions, which in some cases were a bit confusing. In some cases there were abrupt and shortened explanations and scenes which I felt would have read more smoothly with more detail.
Overall, an interesting two-book series I found very entertaining.
This story captured my imagination from the story. There was a gradual unfolding of the character's interests and motivations and great plot twists along the way. After starting the book, I read it thru in practically one sitting.
Please consider reading The Sixth Sense and this sequel., No Safe Haven. They are character driven stories that had me captivated from beginning to end.
I enjoyed the first book so much I bought the second. Enthralling story. I would definitely recommend it. The story was interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it unfold . The characters were interesting and it added to the enjoyment of the story. If there was a third book I would definitely read it.
I hate having to give written reviews for books then I get five stars today but in this case I will say that this was a really good series of books and would highly recommend them.
The preceding book (The Sixth Discipline) was a bit choppy - short sentences, what he did and did next and did after that, and not really letting one get into the character. But despite that, a really good story on an interesting world and by the end of the book I was either used to the style or the writing improved.
I enjoyed the book (I'd rate 4 star) and so went on to read this, which fulfilled the promise. A satisfying story line, great characters, lots of action and good romance.
And then I bought another book from the same author... keep it up, Ms Buxton!
